Dominic Calvert-Lewin holds the keys to beat Aston Villa, Daniel Farke must utilise him properly at Leeds United

Leeds United striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has proven he knows how to get one over on Aston Villa.

Calvert-Lewin has struggled since signing for Leeds in the summer, as the free agent has scored just one Premier League goal this season.

Felix Nmecha came in against Nottingham Forest and got on the scoresheet, despite the Whites falling to a 3-1 defeat at the City Ground.

A change could be utilised for the upcoming clash as Leeds are preparing to face Aston Villa in their next Premier League outing at Elland Road.

Daniel Farke could call upon Calvert-Lewin with the hope of him having a devastating impact on Unai Emery’s men.

Calvert-Lewin signed for Leeds from Everton as the forward made the decision to leave the Toffees after nine years.

The Englishman had made 273 appearances at Goodison Park, so the choice to move away from Merseyside came as a surprise to many.

Leeds appeared to have secured a coup on a free transfer, although his injury record does pose a concern, even at this stage.

Calvert-Lewin now has a perfect opportunity to kick-start his Elland Road career against an opponent he has done well against in the past.

The striker has scored three career goals against the Villans, with one of those coming last season with a header to put Everton 2-0 up at Villa Park.

He may have tasted defeat on that day due to a Jhon Duran wonderstrike, but things could be different under Farke this time around.

If the German sorts his side to play to his number nine’s strengths, he may prove to be unstoppable up against Emery’s side.

Calvert-Lewin can cause problems for Pau Torres

Villa are without Tyrone Mings due to injury, and it is that lack of physicality that could cause problems for the away side in LS11.

Pau Torres has been known for his lack of physical attributes, having won just 49 per cent of his ground duels so far this season.

The Spaniard could prove to be a target for Calvert-Lewin, who will be confident of bullying the ex-Villarreal man.

The Leeds man previously scored a header against Villa and needs to be provided with similar service if he is to make a difference this time around.

Farke has been reluctant to pump crosses into the box for the forward, but could benefit from taking the shackles off and turning a flop signing into a weapon.
