Daniel Farke’s renaissance highlighted as Leeds United lead way in new Premier League reveal

Daniel Farke deserves all the credit, as Leeds are currently on track to secure another season in the Premier League.

Over the course of the first few months of this campaign, that likelihood looked almost out of the question.

Both performances and results were lacking, and Farke was weeks, if not days, away from being sacked by the 49ers.

However, the German has turned the ship around remarkably, and how he has been getting results is highlighted by the emergence of new data.

How Daniel Farke improved Leeds’ results this season

Farke has played it cautious with his approach at Leeds this season, and that outlook has been bearing plenty of fruit.

The Whites are infrequently the bringers of their own downfall, and they have limited the mistakes they make in terms of gifting the opposition chances.

The Athletic have revealed that the Elland Road club make fewer mistakes than any other side in the Premier League.

Leeds’ three errors leading to goals and 10 errors leading to shots are the lowest in the top flight.

Additionally, Farke has made the Peacocks more risk-averse in their build-up, and that has made them comparable to league leaders Arsenal in that regard.

Only the Gunners and Everton have conceded fewer than Leeds’ 84 turnovers in their own defensive third.

While this has made Leeds weaker in attack, it has allowed them to keep games close and, in turn, allowed them a chance to grab a result.

Especially when at home, with a game in the balance, a vibrant and loud Elland Road is an exceptional weapon.

Why Leeds can utilise these tactics to their advantage against Man City

Next up for Farke is against title chasers Man City, who will be hoping for a much easier route to three points than before.

Elland Road will no doubt be up for the game, and the away side will be unlikely to count on Leeds falling on their own sword.

The Whites pushed the Citizens to the wire earlier in the season, with only Phil Foden’s goal separating the two sides in the end.

In all likelihood, the Sky Blues will hold onto most of the possession, and Leeds must remain patient, biding their time to strike.

However, if Farke’s men can dig in and continue to keep that mentality of few mistakes, then there is every chance they can come away with a result this time.
