Daniel Farke’s future at Leeds examined: Will 49ers make brutal end of season call?
Daniel Farke has done a superb job with Leeds this season, but some are still not satisfied.
Leeds are well on their way towards Premier League survival this season, and while the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Ethan Ampadu will be praised for their involvement, most of the praise belongs to Farke.
The German started the season under immense pressure given his previous record in the top flight, but he has learned from his past mistakes and has turned the Whites into a solid Premier League outfit.
However, sometimes that is not enough to cement a manager’s future at their respective clubs, and the question will always emerge at the end of the season.

Should Daniel Farke be given another season at Leeds?
Presuming Leeds can stay on the same trajectory and cement their status in the Premier League, yes.
And the reasons for that are obvious.
Not only would it be an achievement to avoid the drop, but stats show that Farke has his side playing even better than the table would suggest.
Not only are they actually underperforming their xG by 1.8, which showcases a lack of attacking firepower, but they are also underperforming their expected points.
Based on their xG for and against over the season, Opta actually has Leeds United in 11th-place in the Premier League, which is four places higher than reality.
The Whites have conceded 5.3 goals more than expected, which again demonstrates how they can improve their defensive lineup, mainly in goal.

They should, in theory, be on 38 points ahead of the final 11 games of the season, which places them above the likes of Aston Villa and Everton in the expected table.
When will Farke’s future become uncertain?
Again, working on the assumption that Leeds can avoid the drop comfortably this season, Farke should, and more than likely will, have plenty of time left at Elland Road.
The Whites will look to invest in the summer and provide him with more strength in the areas that have been lacking this season, which is quite clearly in the final third and between the sticks.
Should the 49ers deliver on those promises, then Farke will be tasked with progressing even further than he has this season.
However, a failure to do so is when his future will really start coming under threat.
But for now, the German couldn’t be more secure in his job at Leeds, which is something that very few people saw coming when taking into account his previous Premier League record.
