Daniel Farke to thank as Leeds create club history after what happened vs Chelsea
Leeds had another memorable night in the Premier League as they came from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday.
Joao Pedro’s first-half strike and Cole Palmer’s second-half spot-kick put the Blues in the ascendancy, but the game completely changed in the space of six crazy minutes
Lukas Nmecha fired home from the penalty spot before Noah Okafor scored a controversial equaliser to level the game in the 73rd minute.
The Whites ended up clinging on for a point, as Palmer missed an absolute sitter in the dying moments of the match.
The result has moved Leeds up to 15th in the Premier League table, and they remain six points clear of the relegation zone.
Leeds create club history after thrilling comeback vs Chelsea
Chelsea were always the favourites to beat Leeds, and by securing a positive result, the Whites broke a series of records.
Farke’s side have ended a run of seven consecutive defeats at Stamford Bridge and earned the club’s first point at Chelsea since November 2000.
Tuesday’s draw is also the first time in Leeds’ history that they have come from two goals behind to avoid defeat in a match against Chelsea.
Farke had a key role to play in the game, and he switched his team up perfectly, given the injuries to Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Anton Stach.
He deployed a 5-4-1 formation, with Bogle playing in a more advanced role down the right-hand side.

This proved to be a masterstroke as the former Sheffield United man won the penalty that got the Whites back into the game.
It’s yet another sign of the German head coach’s tactical nous, and all the credit must go to him for what he has done over the last few months.
Leeds are also the first newly promoted side in Premier League history to remain unbeaten against both Chelsea and Liverpool in a season.
Leeds only 10 points away from achieving safety
Since the start of December, only Man City and Man United (both one) have suffered fewer Premier League defeats than the Whites (two).
Farke is clearly doing a fantastic job, and the hard-fought draw against Liam Rosenior’s men is a reward for all the work that the team put into the match.
Although Chelsea weren’t at their best, they were stifled by a team in fine form.

There are 12 games left to play, and Leeds certainly aren’t the favourites to be relegated.
They are just 10 points away from the 40-point mark, which would more or less guarantee them safety in their first season back in the top flight.
Although their next two league matches are against Aston Villa and Man City, the Peacocks still have the likes of Burnley, Wolves and Sunderland to play at home.
As a result, Farke will likely be able to lead his side to securing Premier League safety.
