Daniel Farke must axe Manor Solomon from Leeds United team after what he did v QPR

Daniel Farke must axe Manor Solomon from his Leeds United starting XI after what he did against QPR in their Championship clash on Saturday.

The attacker was one of the German’s marquee signings in the summer and while his life at Elland Road started off well, since his return from injury, he’s not been the same player.

Granted, Farke hasn’t had much choice regarding who can start on either wing due to Largie Ramazani being sidelined but it still feels like he needs to find someone to replace the Israel international.

His performance against QPR only further cemented this as he was taken off in the 72nd minute after having little impact on the clash.

As aforementioned, his injury seems to have hindered his progression somewhat and although the Whites are winning games consistently, the Tottenham loanee seems to be something of a passenger to his team’s recent success.

In fact, Graham Smyth even noted that he seemed like he was “trying too hard” against QPR and that his “frustration” was very noticeable.

As per Sofascore, in the 72 minutes the 25-year-old was on the pitch, he only managed 45 touches of the ball and amassed an xG of just 0.08.

Solomon had a couple of shots throughout the tie and while one was on target, one was deemed to be a ‘big chance’ that he missed.

While this may not seem like the end of the world, you’d expect a lot more from an attacker against a much weaker side.

His passing was arguably the best aspect of his game with 90 per cent of them ending successfully.

Solomon did put in a decent amount of work defensively but of the eight ground duels he attempted, only three ended successfully and the fact he lost possession of the ball 10 times throughout the clash says all you need to know.

Last but certainly not least, he completed zero per cent of the two dribbles he attempted in the game which further outlines how poor he was going forward.

One game shouldn’t define the future of a player of course but the fact his underperformance has been going on for some time now, should be raising alarm bells in the head of Farke.
