Daniel Farke has clear reason for Leeds United confidence vs Norwich – here’s why
One subplot stands tall above the rest as Leeds prepare to take on Norwich in the FA Cup on Sunday: Daniel Farke.
Indeed, this fifth round tie at Elland Road will see Farke go up against his former club, having spent four-and-a-half years at Carrow Road between 2017-2021.
Whether it’s a welcome distraction from their Premier League campaign or not will be the debate across Leeds supporters, with their team winless in their last four and having suffered back-to-back defeats to Man City and Sunderland.
However, the FA Cup is a competition that demands respect, especially with a quarter-final place up for grabs this weekend, with Leeds last lifting this famous trophy all the way back in 1972.

Leeds have dominated Norwich fixture in recent times
Despite their poor form in the league, Leeds being the Premier League side opposing Championship outfit Norwich, will see them kick-off on Sunday as favourites to win.
The Canaries are signing at the moment though, winning a superb 10 of their 13 games they’ve played in all competitions in the calendar year of 2026 so far.
As such, Philippe Clement’s side have now pulled 11 points clear from the relegation battle they found themselves in, and in this kind of form, will be eyeing a late push for the play-offs, of which they’re currently 12 points out of.
So, it certainly won’t be an easy afternoon for Leeds, and Farke’s side will have to be at their best if they want to avoid an upset at Elland Road.

However, the history books most definitely point towards a Leeds win on Sunday, with the Whites having lost just once in their last 10 meetings against the Norfolk outfit.
The only loss in that time period came in a 3-1 defeat at Elland Road in the Championship on 2 February 2019, when a Mario Vrancic brace and a Teemu Pukki goal ensured Patrick Bamford’s 90th-minute header was a mere consolation.
What is Norwich City’s away record like this season?
It’s a long old journey up from Norfolk to West Yorkshire for Norwich and their fans on Sunday, but how successful have they been on their travels this term?
Well, 26 of their 45 Championship points have came on the road, with 19 points picked up at Carrow Road for comparison.
Seven wins, five draws and six defeats from 18 away games in the league point towards consistency problems plaguing this Canaries side.
However, Clement’s men have won their last two away matches, winning 3-0 at Oxford on 10 February, before beating Leicester 2-0 last time out.
