Daniel Farke could do something last seen under Howard Wilkinson in Leeds clash with Burnley

Leeds United travel to face Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday.

With the international break nearly over, Leeds United are days away from their clash with Burnley.

Tottenham secured a 2-1 win against Leeds last time out, with the Whites securing a victory away to Wolves in their most recent away encounter.

As a result, Leeds could win back-to-back away games for the first time since 2022 on Saturday, and Daniel Farke could do something himself that hasn’t been seen at the Whites since 1995.

Leeds could name unchanged lineup vs Burnley

Mainly due to injuries, with Dan James sidelined alongside Willy Gnonto, Farke hasn’t had too many options to pick when it comes to his starting 11.

As a result, the Whites have named the same starting 11 in each of their last four Premier League games.

Results in that period couldn’t be more mixed with one win, a draw and one loss, though overall, it has been a solid return.

However, should Farke stick with the same 11 that suffered defeat against Spurs, it will be the first time Leeds have named an unchanged XI in five consecutive top-flight games since 1995.

Howard Wilkinson was in charge of Leeds United at the time, with the Whites going on to achieve a 13th-placed finish in the top flight.

Willy Gnonto return could scupper Daniel Farke’s XI

Gnonto is expected to be fit enough to make the squad for Saturday’s clash at Turf Moor, though it remains to be seen how Farke deals with his return.

Brenden Aaronson has fared pretty well on the right-wing in his absence, and the German may not want to alter a team that has been playing well.

With that said, a clash against Burnley is a must-win given the fact that they will be a direct rival for relegation, and Farke simply needs to name his best 11.

As things stand, that certainly includes Gnonto, who has been out of action since Leeds’ 1-0 defeat to Fulham in September.
