Dan James returns as Daniel Farke makes two changes – Leeds predicted XI vs Nottingham Forest

Dan James could be set to return to Leeds United’s starting lineup when they travel to Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

James was one of Leeds’ best players last season, with nine goals and 12 assists in the Championship promotion-winning campaign.

However, after starting the first three matches back in the Premier League, James has had injuries and been restricted to minutes off the bench.

The Welsh international missed the clashes with Wolves and Tottenham and has featured for a total of 56 minutes in the last three matches.

Daniel Farke could make two changes for Nottingham Forest vs Leeds

Daniel Farke has a decision to make on a potential Anton Stach return, as well as other key calls for the contest with Sean Dyche’s side.

Lucas Perri is expected to keep his place between the sticks, despite conceding three goals in the loss to Brighton.

Farke might recall Pascal Struijk into the backline to replace Jaka Bijol, who did not have his finest hour against the Seagulls.

The rest of the backline is predicted to remain the same with Jayden Bogle, Joe Rodon and Gabriel Gudmundsson keeping their places.

Meanwhile, in midfield, Farke is expected to go with the same trio that started last time out, with Ethan Ampadu sitting deep and Ao Tanaka and Sean Longstaff in front of the Welshman.

In attack, James might be handed a recall with Noah Okafor on the opposite flank, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin leading the line.

Leeds need ‘sensational’ James to return to top form

The Whites need to improve on a dismal away record that has seen them pick up three points from a possible 15 on the road.

To do that, they need James to return to his best form, and put the recent absence behind him once and for all.

James was once described as “sensational” by Graham Potter in his time at Swansea City [Sky Sports], and Farke needs him to come up with the goods at the City Ground.

The 27-year-old is lethal in front of goal on his day and could also be key to unlocking Calvert-Lewin, who has struggled to put chances away so far.
