Calvert-Lewin axed in two changes – Leeds United predicted XI vs Burnley

Leeds United are back in Premier League action this weekend when they face Burnley.

Off the back of Leeds United’s 2-1 defeat to Tottenham, and an international break which was successful from an injury point of view, the Whites are back in action this Saturday.

Burnley host the Whites, looking to pick up only their second win of the campaign since being promoted from the Championship.

To prevent that, Daniel Farke could make two changes to his starting 11 from the one that suffered defeat last time out, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin potentially set to miss out.

Unchanged backline for Leeds vs Burnley

Lucas Perri could return this weekend, though with Karl Darlow yet to put a foot wrong in his absence, Farke has no reason to change his goalkeeper.

Jayden Bogle and Gabriel Gudmundsson have been two of Leeds’ standout players this season, and despite the former seemingly picking up a knock against Spurs, he is expected to be fit to face the Clarets.

Joe Rodon impressed for Wales over the international break, and when fit, his position in the team is nailed on, with Pascal Struijk expected to start alongside him once again.

Into the midfield, Farke again has very little reason to change.

Sean Longstaff has been in good form as of late, while Ethan Ampadu’s role in the team is crucial, especially in games like these.

Anton Stach has been Leeds’s most impressive summer signing, and the German is almost certain to start in a slightly more advanced role than the aforementioned duo.

Joel Piroe to replace Calvert-Lewin

Jack Harrison has been putting in the work over the break, and he could get the chance to showcase his ability, replacing Brenden Aaronson on the right flank.

Willy Gnonto could return to the squad, though he seems unlikely to be handed a starting role after several weeks on the sidelines.

Noah Okafor, injury permitted, will almost certainly start on the opposite wing, having scored against Tottenham last time out.

Calvert-Lewin’s struggles have been exposed in the last few games, and it could afford a chance for Joel Piroe to lead the line in the Premier League.

Earlier in the season, Farke labelled Piroe’s finishing ability as “world-class, and a clash against Burnley could be the perfect time for him to showcase that.
