Brenden Aaronson will be lucky to start in Nottingham Forest vs Leeds after Daniel Farke admission

Brendan Aaronson seems to have lost the early-season form he had as Leeds United face Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Sunday.

Daniel Farke’s team will travel to the City Ground on 9 November, with both teams currently involved in the relegation battle.

Sean Dyche will be looking to build on the draw against Manchester United on 1 November, with the game in West Bridgford ending 2-2.

The West Yorkshire outfit could arguably kill two birds with one stone if they get the three points against the Tricky Trees — climbing up the table and ensuring Forest stay in the relegation zone — but the USA international may not be a part of the German manager’s plans in NG2.

Dan James ready for Leeds United start vs Nottingham Forest

Dan James has struggled with fitness issues this season and hasn’t started in any of Leeds’ last seven Premier League matches.

It seems Farke is trying to reintroduce the Wales international into the starting lineup gradually to avoid any injury recurrence at Elland Road.

Having made three consecutive substitute appearances for the Whites in the league, it looks like the 27-year-old is finally ready to make his comeback.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference on 7 November, the 49-year-old head coach said: “In terms of his fitness, I would say he’s back and able to start again.”

Aaronson struggled against Brighton at the Amex Stadium, with the West Yorkshire outfit suffering a 3-0 defeat on 1 November.

The 25-year-old registered an xA of 0.15, didn’t take a single shot in the entire game, failed to complete any of his dribbles, lost possession 11 times and couldn’t even contribute defensively, winning just 30 per cent of his duels, as per Sofascore.

What Dan James brings to Daniel Farke’s team

James will surely start for Leeds against Forest, as Aaronson will surely be lucky to keep his place on the right-wing.

The Welshman has had a frustrating campaign so far due to injuries, but in the seven league games he has played, the winger has recovered the ball an average of 1.1 times, completed 0.1 dribbles and won 1.3 of his total duels per game, as per Sofascore.

James’ Championship record last season

Last season, the former Manchester United forward scored 12 goals and provided nine assists in the Championship for the Whites, and fans will hope he can return to his best.

With James back to full fitness, it makes sense to start him over Aaronson and let him build confidence, as he’ll undoubtedly be key to the West Yorkshire outfit’s success in the English top flight.
