Bournemouth host Leeds United in a rescheduled Premier League clash on Wednesday, days before the Whites’ trip to Wembley.

Daniel Farke’s side are within touching distance of securing their top-flight spot after wins against Manchester United and Wolves, but must keep up the pace against Bournemouth.

Alongside their league ambitions, momentum is on the line, with a big FA Cup semi-final bout with Chelsea on Sunday at Wembley.

Opponents Bournemouth are unbeaten in 12 matches, and are looking to claim a spot in Europe before Andoni Iraola’s departure at the end of the season.

And if the latest prediction from Opta’s supercomputer comes to fruition, the Cherries are about to start the run-in strongly against Leeds.

Leeds run to come to an end in Bournemouth trip

Since returning from the international break, Farke’s side have been on a fantastic run.

Securing their Wembley place with a shootout win against West Ham, they would follow this up with wins against Manchester United and Wolves, though this run could be about to come to an end.

Making the trip down south, the Whites have been handed a 21.8 per cent chance of taking all three points, with Iraola’s Cherries handed the label of firm favourites, with a 55 per cent chance allocated to the hosts.

Having only locked horns three times in the Premier League, Leeds do not have much history to call upon when it comes to this fixture.

Having played out a 2-2 draw in the reverse fixture and won 4-3 at Elland Road in November 2022, they are unbeaten at home.

Though at the Vitality Stadium, the only top-flight encounter between the sides ended in a 4-1 Bournemouth win before the West Yorkshire outfit were sent down to the Championship.

Leeds are in a good place to secure survival

Despite a potential defeat on Wednesday, Farke’s side has worked tirelessly to leave themselves in a good position to secure survival.

Sitting eight points clear of the drop zone, the Whites are firm favourites to claim their place in the division, having previously been dragged back into the battle through a string of draws before the international break.

Switching his system before the festive period, boss Farke has adapted to the Premier League seamlessly, after immense criticism during the season’s early stages.

Since then, Leeds have looked like a seasoned top-flight outfit, capable of putting in a performance against anyone in the league, while they have remained resolute and hard to beat on days when things don’t quite happen in the final third.

Starting with Bournemouth, the West Yorkshire outfit will be looking to finish on a high after a fantastic year thus far, with a draw still a positive result.
