This is part of a regular series from our panel of Leeds United Super Fans. Each week, our Super Fans will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around Elland Road and Thorp Arch.
Leeds United have announced a number of signings already this week, but not necessarily the one which everyone at Elland Road wants.
Jack Harrison, Joe Gelhardt and Charlie Allen have all had their moves confirmed, but Whites fans are waiting for Ben White.
The Brighton youngster achieved hero status in West Yorkshire last season, and Leeds have not given up on making that loan switch permanent.
Sky Sports reported that Leeds have had two bids rejected for the defender, the latest of those £22million, a fee that would break the transfer record of the Whites.
It’s not all bad news though, with White also rejecting offers for a new contract with the Seagulls at the AMEX.
White is Marcelo Bielsa’s number one target this summer, and Andrea Radrizzani is keen to please the South American before the start of the Premier League season.
The Italian owner interacted with a fan on Twitter on Monday, liking a tweet that was asking him for an update on White.
Given that a £22million bid was rejected, Leeds may need to get closer to £30million before making a breakthrough in negotiations.
Would fans at Elland Road want that? Or would they prefer that Victor Orta can use that money to bring in two or possibly three new faces?
We asked our esteemed panel of MOT Leeds News Super Fans how much they would pay for White this summer.
Here’s what they said…
It appears that the majority of our Super Fans would prefer that bidding went no higher than £30million, after all, it is a lot of money for someone who has never featured in the Premier League.
We all want to see White at Elland Road next season, and it appears that it’s time for the club to put their money where their mouth is.
In other Leeds United news, Steven Gerrard has responded when asked directly about the Whites’ interest in this key Rangers player
