MOT Super Fans select MOTM in Leeds draw v Chelsea
This is part of a regular series from our panel of Leeds United Super Fans. Each week, our Super Fans will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around Elland Road and Thorp Arch.
Leeds United battled their way to a 0-0 draw against Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
In a fiesty game, neither side had huge chances but there was definitely enough action in the final third for either team to grab the three points.
The Whites were hit with numerous blows, including before the game when captain Liam Cooper was ruled out with a sickness bug.
It didn’t get much better once the action got underway.
Patrick Bamford was forced off in the opening 45 minutes and was replaced by record signing Rodrigo, who has just come back from his own problem.
Marcelo Bielsa isn’t afraid to make big calls though and dragged the Spaniard back off in the second half despite confirming no injuries to his side.
Tyler Roberts was the standout figure for the Whites, with his performance only missing the goal that he so desperately deserved after hitting the bar and having one ruled out.
Leeds definitely held their own despite only having 38.1% possession, and on another day, could easily have finished with all three points.
We asked our MOT Super Fans to pick their Man of the Match from the draw, and there were a number of different candidates.
Diego Llorente, Luke Ayling, Illan Meslier and Roberts were all given mentions as the Whites creep towards Premier League survival.
Here’s what they said…
