Leeds United are starting to step up their hunt for a new striker this summer.
Marcelo Bielsa is wanting more options in the final third as he searches for fierce competition alongside Patrick Bamford.
One of the latest links to emerge is Chelsea forward Michy Batshuayi, with Phil Hay claiming the Belgian is an option should Leeds miss out on Said Benrahma.
It gathered pace on Monday too as Times journalist Gary Jacobs suggested that the Whites are considering “stepping up their interest” in the Chelsea forward.
Any move for the 26-year-old could be considered a risk, with his £100,000-a-week wages and £20million-plus valuation a massive gamble.
Football.London journalist Alan Smith claimed that “no sensible club” would take that risk of a permanent deal for Batshuayi, but Bielsa could think differently.
El Loco worked with the striker at Marseille, and he could be the one to turn his fortunes around at Elland Road next season.
We asked our esteemed panel of MOT Super Fans if they would make the move for Batshuayi this summer.
Would the wages be too much? Or could they think of a better way to get this potential deal over the line?
Here’s what they said…
Approach with caution, but most of our Super Fans seem to agree that Batshuayi could be a smart addition at Elland Road.
Of course, the wages and fee could be a problem, but as the majority claimed, a loan-to-buy option could be perfect.
