Leeds United Super Fans were shocked by Marcelo Bielsa ahead of the match against Southampton due to his inclusion of Kiko Casilla.

Some even criticised the manager’s decision, suggesting it was strange and even crazy that the Spaniard replace Illan Meslier.

That is not too surprising given Meslier is playing his best football currently. Casilla, by contrast, looks to be on his way out of the club.

And yet the 34-year-old proved Bielsa right, pulling off some magnificent saves to help the Whites to a win, while also keeping a clean sheet.

The incident suggests Bielsa should never be questioned. Some supporters already believe that but now the entire fanbase may realise it is foolish to go against the Argentine.

Here is how our Super Fans reacted to the news that Marcelo Bielsa named Kiko Casilla in the starting line-up to play Southampton.

Bielsa has surprised many fans, pundits and opposition managers this season through his style of play and interesting decision-making.

Each time he has come out on top, and shown adaptability to solve problems in the team – such as our leaky defence at the beginning of the season.

He has not been afraid to experiment; Robin Koch, Pascal Struijk and Jamie Shackleton have all operated in the defensive midfield role at one time or another, and looked good at times.

His continued faith in the likes of Gjanni Alioski, Helder Costa and Tyler Roberts may raise a few eyebrows but they too have made positive contributions.

Costa grabbed an assist in the brilliant win at Manchester City while Roberts bagged our second at Southampton.

We look forward to Bielsa proving his doubters wrong in future and hope he has another trick up his sleeve for the final match of the season against West Brom.
