Tyler Adams tells Leeds United he wants to leave after Liverpool and Manchester United make contact
Tyler Adams has told Leeds United that he wants to stay in the Premier League next season and the club accept he won’t be with them in the second tier, according to TEAMtalk.
Manchester United and Liverpool have both reportedly checked on the American’s availability and he is aware of the interest in him from the Premier League.
He is also thought to be on Newcastle’s list of targets, and has been reported to be interesting the likes of Aston Villa [The Athletic, 8 June] and Nottingham Forest [The Athletic, 8 June].

Phil Hay had previously stated in The Athletic on 1 June that the midfielder was one of the players Leeds United “desperately” wanted to keep hold of, but that now appears to be unlikely.
Blow
While the Whites’ midfield wasn’t exactly a major strength earlier in the season, Adams’ absence through injury late in the campaign demonstrated his importance to this team.
Had he been available through the Javi Gracia and Sam Allardyce era’s perhaps he could have stayed in the Premier League as an Elland Road star.
It was always going to be tricky to keep hold of such a player in the second tier, and with the size of club apparently coming in for him even more so.

A move to Old Trafford would absolutely not be what Leeds United fans want to see, but it does seem that a departure somewhere in the top flight is now on the cards.
With Weston McKennie already gone, Marc Roca heading to Real Betis on loan, and Adam Forshaw currently in line to be released, that would mean the entire set of senior options in central midfield could be gone this summer.
The Englishman may yet get a new deal but his injury record is a concern, so it is going to a key position in this transfer window.
Adams’ exit has the potential to be the most damaging of all but is one that now seems likely.
In other Leeds United news, one of the new 49ers ownership group has reacted to questions about the new manager appointment.
