Tony Cascarino gives glowing verdict of Leeds United ace Crysencio Summerville, makes Rodrigo claim

Crysencio Summerville is in the form of his life right now as he scored his fourth goal in as many games for Leeds United against Tottenham Hotspur.

The Dutch youth international gave Jesse Marsch’s side the dream start in the capital having previously scored winning goals against AFC Bournemouth and Liverpool.

Tony Cascarino was full of praise for the 20-year-old live on talkSPORT and even hailed Rodrigo for finally coming good after his brace against Antonio Conte’s Spurs.

“Summerville’s goal was a terrific goal,” Cascarino said before Natalie Sawyer interjected, “What a player!” Cascarino then continued: “Rodrigo has got going this year.

“It really looks like they’ve found a forward who is suddenly paying dividends because they paid a decent fee for him when they got him.

“Leeds look like a side that are going to cause problems for teams. We saw it at Anfield, they won against Liverpool and they didn’t just get the two goals there but had five fantastic chances.”

It’s wild to think that Summerville has only started a handful of matches in senior football and he is already one of the stars in the Premier League for Leeds United.

He has been helped by Luis Sinisterra’s injury to open up a place for him in the XI but he has grabbed his opportunity with both hands and will not relinquish it at all.

Marsch arguably waited a little longer than he should have to bring him into the senior setup on a regular basis and there are plenty more youngsters beginning to bang on the door of the first team.

Mateo Joseph Fernandez made his Premier League debut at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after appearing in the Carabao Cup against Wolves and Wilfried Gnonto made his first start too.

But even when Sinisetrra returns to fitness after the World Cup, he surely can’t be selected to start ahead of Summerville providing the Dutchman stays fit during the break.

In other Leeds United news, Jeff Stelling and Tim Sherwood shared the scenes at Spurs after a controversial incident in Saturday’s encounter.
