Sky Sports make embarrassing Kalvin Phillips gaffe on their website
Sky Sports seem intent to rile up Leeds United fans and there latest gaffe on their website will no doubt cause eyes to roll among the Elland Road faithful once more.
On Friday morning, an article was uploaded on Sky Sports’ website which named five players that have been tipped to break into the England squad for Euro 2021.
Kalvin Phillips has been widely tipped to play for Gareth Southgate’s side in the near future and had it not been for the coronavirus pandemic, he might already be a fully-capped England international.
Unsurprisingly, the 24-year-old midfielder featured on Sky Sports’ list of five players but embarrassingly, the broadcaster used an image of Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford underneath the Leeds player’s name.
How has someone made such a terrible mistake? How has someone managed to include an image of two Manchester United players when they are talking about a Leeds player?
Phillips deserves to be in the next England squad based on how well he has played for Leeds United this season but it seems the person writing about him doesn’t even know enough to even include the correct image of him.
Maybe he’s a Man United fan trying to have a dig at Leeds in a subtle way that he hoped to have gone under the radar?
That’s not going to happen now it’s been spotted and been called out on.
Hopefully Sky fix this ridiculous error as soon as possible.
In other Leeds United news, this 21-year-old has caught the eye of Leeds’ coaching staff at Thorp Arch.
