Max Wober interest to emerge amid ‘unclear’ Leeds United scenario

Interest in Max Wober could emerge with the Austrian’s situation at Leeds United remaining “unclear” at present, according to Leeds Live.

The 25-year-old joined the Yorkshire side in January when Jesse Marsch was still in charge and has probably been the pick of the winter signings.

Due to his impressive performances, Leeds Live claim that interest in the defender could emerge over the course of the summer.

“There’s a degree of uncertainty surrounding the whole summer at present with changes set to be made throughout the club. However, Wober’s situation appears to be one of the most unclear at present,” they wrote (8 June).

“The Austrian joined Leeds in January from Red Bull Salzburg and he certainly looked the part in the Premier League. As such, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see interest emerge for him, but there’s been no clear indication just yet in regards to whether he’ll stay or go.”

Wober did produce the odd rash moment during the 2022/23 season, but, on the whole, he was a successful signing for the Whites. Out of Jesse Marsch’s fairly dismal winter haul, he was the success story. When taking an in-depth look at Leeds’ squad, he’s one the main players that could provide value.

He’s a good age and has proven himself to be capable in the Premier League. If the club can keep hold of him, he will be a superb talent in the Championship.

The footballing operations really need to kick into gear. The 49ers are now closing in on a deal for the club and will be hoping for an immediate return to the top flight.

In order for that to happen, it’s absolutely essential for the board to make quick decisions when it comes to the managerial hunt. The longer Leeds go without a boss, the less chance they will have of securing promotion back to the Premier League.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites can get £10.3million from selling this fringe player.
