'Magnificent football player' – These fans loving debut after Leeds miss out on 'incredible' ace

Leeds United had a brilliant transfer window, spending close to £100m, but if there was one blot on the copybook it was not getting another midfielder in.

It had looked like Leeds were going to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Michael Cuisance with a deal seemingly all but done before it collapsed in strange circumstances.

Cuisance travelled to Leeds for a medical but there was something the Whites weren’t happy with and they pulled out of the deal, leaving Cuisance shocked and flying back to Germany.

Despite the supposed failed medical, which Bayern and the player disputed, it didn’t take Cuisance long to find a new club.

He signed for Marseille and seemingly proved his fitness by playing 74 minutes in the 3-1 win against Bordeaux on Saturday.

That was his debut for the club and he put in a solid display, earning himself a 6.7 rating from the advanced midfield position from WhoScored.

Plenty of Marseille fans were impressed with what they saw and one Leeds fan think the Whites might have made a mistake

Cuisance starting certainly seems to fit in with the Bayern Munich side of the narrative over the failed Leeds transfer.

However, we have to trust the advice of Rob Price in the Leeds camp and the club might have been extra cautious after getting burned with a loan gone wrong for Jean-Kevin Augustin.

These Marseille fans certainly think that Leeds’ loss is their gain though, with one saying, “Cuisance is really that technical player playing between the lines that we needed so much”…

“Cuisance will do us a lot of good this season, he makes the game more fluid in midfield.”

“It’s simple, it’s beautiful.”

“Cuisance is really that technical player playing between the lines that we needed so much.”

“Cuisance – what a gem.”

“Cuisance is really good.”

“Cuisance is incredible.”

“Cuisance’s first game is a very good game.”

“Cuisance is a magnificent football player.”
