Leeds United target Charles De Ketelaere scheduled to jet out to complete AC Milan move

Leeds United are all set to miss out on Charles De Ketelaere as he reportedly jetted out on Monday evening to join AC Milan.

According to Belgian outlet HLN, he was scheduled to leave at 10:45pm on August 1 as the Serie A champions finally got their man ahead of Leeds who submitted a club record fee of £33.5million.

All formalities are expected to be completed soon before the 21-year-old can officially be announced as a Milan player.

Blessing in disguise

De Ketelaere was never keen on moving to Elland Road and that could be seen from the early reports emerging from Belgium.

He always had his mind set on Milan, so much so that he even took a pay cut and convinced Brugge to accept less money.

They would have made more money had they sold him to Leeds and he would’ve been in line for a bigger payday as well.

In the end, both things did not happen and the Belgium international finally got his way.

Had he not, he would’ve sulked and would have flirted with Milan in every transfer window.

Even when Raphinha had a priority to join Barcelona, he did not once down tools for Leeds and we do not see De Ketelaere as the same kind of player.

This will be a blessing in disguise for Leeds as they can now focus on players that are hungry to be at the club.

In other Leeds United news, a 29-year-old has snubbed interest from Europe to move to Elland Road with the move subject to a work permit.
