Leeds star sends Pontus Jansson Instagram message after throwback post

Leeds United beating Birmingham 5-4 on Sunday confirmed that the Whites would finish the decade top of their table for the fourth consecutive time.

Marcelo Bielsa has put together a squad of players that are bringing pride back to the club after a shaky period and has proved that he will move players on if they aren’t ready to the same.

Pontus Jansson left the club in the summer, despite being one of the better players at the club, he was moved on which brought along suggestions he had fallen out with Bielsa.

Pontus Jansson posted an emotional Instagram message on his personal account, looking back at his year which started at Leeds. The Swede remembered the play-off defeat against Derby at the end of last season and moving on to Brentford in the summer.

Kalvin Phillips was included in one of the pictures, and he responded to his former teammate with a simple five-word message.

“Big brother, miss you man,” he wrote.

It is clear that despite now being at Brentford, Jansson still has a lot of fans at Elland Road. Many fans are split on their final decision regarding whether it was best to keep the Swede, but these comments prove that the players have never changed their mind.

Financial fair play did play a part in the summer move, as Leeds needed to balance their books but with exits for players such as Ronaldo Vieira and Jack Clarke in recent years could have possibly avoided losing Jansson.

Liam Cooper, Luke Ayling, and Tyler Roberts all commented on the post as well – proving it isn’t just Phillips who is a big fan of the defender.
