Leeds United: Archie Gray sends message to Connor Roberts after 3-1 win v Leicester City
Leeds United star Archie Gray has sent a message to Connor Roberts after the club’s 3-1 win against Leicester City.
Both players were on the scoresheet in the victory at Elland Road on Friday (23 February), with Patrick Bamford also scoring for the hosts.
Their goals came after Wout Faes had opened the scoring for the visitors in the Championship encounter.
Taking to Instagram to celebrate the goal and win, Roberts said: “Absolutely whomping night at Elland Road last night! A MASSIVE 3 points and even a goal off the bunion!” His Leeds teammate Gray was among those commenting on the post.
Leeds United overcome Leicester City in massive win
Roberts is certainly right in saying that the Whites have just secured a massive three points, with the win leaving them just six points behind the Foxes in the table.
Enzo Maresca’s side took a deserved lead after just 15 minutes at Elland Road, in what was the dream start for the league leaders.
But the hosts didn’t give up for a second, finally breaking the deadlock through Roberts in the 80th minute.
Gray then bagged a deflected strike just three minutes later, with Bamford securing the victory in stoppage time.
The stunning turnaround left Elland Road rocking, with Daniel Farke certain to have been absolutely thrilled with the determination of his players throughout the 90 minutes.

Both Roberts and Gray meanwhile will be over the moon after scoring their first goals for the West Yorkshire club, particularly given how they came at such a crucial stage of such an important game.
In other Leeds United news, Gretar Steinsson has been hailed as one transfer flies under the radar at Elland Road.
