Jayden Bogle slammed by national newspapers after Leeds United loss v Burnley
Jayden Bogle has been slammed for his “slow” reactions as Leeds United lost 1-0 to Burnley on Saturday (14 September).
The defender was given a 5/10 rating by the Football League Paper (page 10, 15 September) after failing to keep Luca Koleosho off the scoresheet in the 18th minute.
Bogle also received criticism in the Sunday Mirror (page 16 of pull-out, 15 September), as the defender let a shot through his legs which sealed the game for Burnley.
The Football League Paper report said: “(Bogle) Had his hands full with (Jaidon) Anthony – and seemed slow to react to Burnley’s goal.
While the Sunday Mirror added: “With Jayden Bogle caught in two minds, the Italy Under-21s international sprinted towards the edge of the penalty area before tucking the finish past Ilian Meslier.”
Jayden Bogle a worry for Leeds United
Leeds’ new signing has had a mixed start to life with his new club, after joining in the summer.
The 24-year-old has started the first five Championship matches under manager Daniel Farke putting in positive displays in wins against Sheffield Wednesday and Hull City.
Facing off against Portsmouth, West Brom, and Burnley, Bogle has an average match rating of 6.5, according to Fotmob.
The Whites shipped three goals in his opening match, while the defender was the last man back as Burnley bound towards goal.

Bogle has been used to a five-back defence at Sheffield United over the past four seasons, and looks unsettled in Farke’s 4-2-3-1 system.
Improvements must be shown in the next match against Cardiff City if the full-back is to retain a place in the starting XI with Sam Byram waiting in the wings.
