‘I will be gone 100%’ – Leeds centre-mid receives offers to exit Elland Rd on loan
Matuesz Bogusz has confirmed that he will be leaving Leeds United on loan before the start of next season.
The 18-year-old has been on the fringes of Marcelo Bielsa’s senior squad in the last two seasons but has only managed to make two first-team appearances, with Bielsa handing him his league debut for the Whites in the win over Charlton on Wednesday.
In an interview with a Polish broadcaster, Bogusz has now revealed that he will continue his development away from Elland Road next season, with loan offers already tabled for him.
“I wanted to go on loan this season, but Bielsa didn’t let anyone go. Now I will be gone 100 per cent, we’ve already talked about it. First I will sign a new contract and then I will go on loan,” Bogusz told TVP Sport.
When asked if he’ll be joining a Championship club on loan, Bogusz said: “I do not know yet. I have various offers, but I have to deal with the club because they said they won’t let me anywhere. I don’t know yet whether the Championship or to another country. I think that in days I will know where I will go.”
Bogusz is clearly one of the more highly-rated Under-23s players in Bielsa’s eyes with the midfielder getting in his first-team squad on 10 occasions, as well as playing a role in the club’s pre-season tour of Australia last summer.
Bogusz will definitely benefit from being sent out on loan because if chances were limited in the Championship then he’s definitely going to find it tough to get a game in the Premier League with the Whites.
It is great to see that there are already offers for the Polish central-midfielder, that means he should get an early summer move to a temporary club, which is bound to help him settle down there before next season kicks off on September 12.
