Leeds United eye Lukas Hornicek transfer as summer priority made clear
Leeds United have identified Lukas Hornicek as a target to address their goalkeeping concerns, MOT Leeds News understands.
Daniel Farke has grown frustrated with his goalkeepers at Elland Road over the last two seasons, with a new number one set to be one of their top priorities in the summer.
MOT Leeds News has learned that Braga’s 23-year-old goalkeeper, Hornicek, is one of those being monitored by officials, having impressed since breaking into the first team last season.
Hornicek is under contract in Portugal until 2028, meaning that Braga will be under no immediate pressure to sell.
However, with Leeds looking to stay in the top flight, they may be well-placed to bring the Czech goalkeeper to Elland Road, with it believed that he is open to a switch to the Premier League.

How has Lukas Hornicek fared for Braga?
Leeds need a goalkeeper to arrive in the summer who is capable with his feet, but most importantly, one who is able to keep the ball out of the net.
And with nine clean sheets in the league for Braga this season, Hornicek certainly fits that bill.
The 23-year-old has made 58 saves so far this season, with a 69.9 per cent save percentage in his 25 appearances.
| League stats | Hornicek |
| Save percentage | 69.9% |
| Goals prevented | 2.67 |
| Penalty saves | 50% |
| Acted as a sweeper | 33 |
| Passes completed | 694 |
On top of that, the Czech shotstopper has completed 78 per cent of his total attempted passes, showcasing his ability to play out from the back, which has been a limitation of both Karl Darlow and Lucas Perri.
Hornicek transfer could unlock exit for Lucas Perri
Perri has struggled with life in the Premier League, and you don’t need stats to tell you that.
But while we are here, the Brazilian has saved just 56.7 per cent of the shots he has faced this season, which places him in the bottom 8.8 per cent of goalkeepers in the top flight.
Just like Illan Meslier, Perri’s time at Elland Road could come to an end this summer, especially if the Whites are successful in their attempts to bring a new number one through the door.
