‘Don’t you leave us’, ‘Please dont’ – Some Leeds fans react as Bielsa reportedly sanctions exit
Leeds United fans are sad to see that left-back Barry Douglas could be on his way out of the club before 5pm on Friday after Marcelo Bielsa reportedly sanctioned his exit.
According to Telegraph journalist Mike McGrath, Bielsa is happy for Leeds to sell the 31-year-old as long as the right deal comes along.
It is understood that the Whites have opened talks about selling Douglas to Championship club Blackburn, with the deal potentially being a loan-to-buy one.
Douglas is in the final year of his contract so it remains to be seen how that would work but if the Scottish left-back’s move to Ewood Park is on an initial loan basis, there’s a chance his contract could be extended at Elland Road to ensure Leeds receive a fee for him next year.
Leeds fans seem to be sad that Douglas is likely to leave but it is understandable.
The former Wolves defender has not played a single minute in the Premier League since Bielsa led the club to promotion and he only started six times in the Championship last term.
However, Douglas is a part of one of the most iconic squads in Leeds United history and see a part of that squad go is sad.
Unfortunately, it has to happen at some point but some of these Leeds fans seem to wish things had turned out differently for the Scot.
