'Crazy' - Gjanni Alioski claims he's won the lottery as he speaks out about Leeds fans
Ezgjan Alioski has hailed the “crazy” Leeds United fanbase and says that joining the Whites was like he had won the lottery.
Alioski, 28, is one of many players who Victor Orta signed for Leeds in his first summer as director of football and in his debut season at Elland Road, the North Macedonia international did little to suggest he’d play a role in a successful promotion bid.
However the former Lugano star has come on leaps and bounds under Marcelo Bielsa, even though he is not exactly a regular starter for the Leeds manager.
Alioski’s energy off the bench – and off the pitch – has played a vital role in Leeds’ title-winning campaign and even though we all view him as the crazy one, Alioski says that it’s the Leeds fans who are the mad ones.
“We learn new things from him every time. I feel like I’ve won the lottery in joining Leeds,” said Alioski, as quoted by The Sun.
“It is a great club, with crazy fans. We all dreamed about winning promotion – and now that dream has come true.
“You can’t stop the Leeds fans. They are still celebrating, and they’ll probably party again when we play our first Premier League game.”
Sorry, Gjanni, but if anyone is crazy, it’s you. But, of course, we mean that in the best way possible.
Who doesn’t love watching Alioski up to his antics?
At the club’s end of season awards, the 28-year-old was spotted wearing a hi-vis vest and showing off his DJ skills to the rest of the squad.
Is there any other player in England who you’d see do the same thing?
Alioski’s energy is never-ending. He’s like a dog who has been cooped up inside all day while you’re out at work who won’t stop licking your face once you get back home.
Just don’t kiss Alioski though, as Pontus Jansson found out last season.
In other Leeds United news, this striker who’s wanted by Leeds is dreaming of playing in the Premier League.
