Bielsa delivers fitness update on key Leeds player after worrying sight v Stoke
Helder Costa put in one of his best performances in a Leeds United shirt on Thursday, scoring one and making another in a 5-0 rout of Stoke City.
Costa signed on a permanent deal this week and what a way to start paying back the £16m fee.
He came back into the side with Stuart Dallas today after both players missed out on the 3-1 win against Blackburn.
Some Leeds fans were a bit worried towards the end of the game today when Costa looked to be slowing up and holding his knee, with some heavy strapping in evidence.
However, talking in his post-match press conference, Bielsa gave both him and Dallas a clean bill of health for the Swansea game on Sunday.
This is good news. Costa played brilliantly against Stoke but definitely slowed up towards the end of the game.
We would have liked to see him come off but he stayed on the full 90 minutes and seems to be fine.
The other injury worry we had was Illan Meslier who seemed to have picked up a bit of an issue towards the end of the game.
He was holding his wrist towards the end of the game. However, he wasn’t mentioned in the post-match press conference so we assume it’s nothing to worry about.
Some fans were surprised to see Costa and Douglas come straight back into the side tonight but Bielda proved he knows his best XI.
Both players were standout today and Leeds looked imperious with both of them in the line-up.
We imagine it will be an unchanged line-up for Sunday after this update.
