Willy Gnonto’s best Leeds moments as big-money January move beckons
Willy Gnonto has been an excellent player at Leeds United for years.
Since signing in 2022, the Italian international quickly established himself as a key player in the starting XI.
Last season, the winger was crucial to Leeds’ promotion to the Premier League, with Gnonto scoring nine Championship goals.
Now, with the attacker slowly losing his importance at Elland Road, there have been suggestions that Gnonto could move to Saudi Arabia.
Therefore, with his future at the West Yorkshire club uncertain, MOT Leeds News has looked back on his best moments at the Peacocks.

Willy Gnonto nets opener vs Manchester United
There are few positive memories to look back on for Leeds fans during the 2022/23 campaign. However, one was their start against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
It was a perfect opening, with Gnonto netting a fabulous goal just a minute in to send the away end into raptures.
The youngster then mimicked Marcus Rashford’s celebration as he confidently made his mark at Old Trafford.

While Man United did manage to come back and draw the game 2-2, the opening by Gnonto was sensational.
Screamer in Leeds United vs Millwall
While Leeds did not manage to get promoted in the 2023/24 campaign, there were still plenty of memorable moments.
However, a perhaps forgotten game was Leeds’ routine 2-0 victory over Millwall in March 2024.
With the game locked at 0-0, Gnonto took it upon himself to open the scoring as he cut inside and set a rocket into the net on the edge of the box.
It was a fantastic goal, and allowed Leeds to set the tone in what could have been a difficult fixture.
During his time at Elland Road, the goal stands as arguably Gnonto’s best finish to date.
Gnonto hits injury-time winner vs Swansea
One of the best games last season came early on when Leeds travelled to Swansea City in November.
In a topsy-turvy match, it looked like Daniel Farke’s side had dropped two points when Florian Bianchini netted a late equaliser for the hosts to make it 3-3.
However, one minute later, Gnonto stepped up in added time to put Leeds back in front and cue mad celebrations behind the goal.
The scenes after Leeds’ late winner were described as “outrageous” as the Peacocks picked up another three valuable points on their promotion campaign.
