Willy Gnonto unlikely to play for Leeds again after what Daniel Farke has said
All signs are pointing towards a January exit for Willy Gnonto.
Gnonto is a player with immense ability, and his record throughout his time at Leeds United showcases that.
However, for one reason or another, he has largely been a bit-part player under Daniel Farke for the last 12 months, even when he was in form.
Gnonto’s most recent appearance for Leeds was in their 1-0 defeat to Fulham in September, and if Farke’s latest comments are anything to go by, it may be his last.

Daniel Farke refuses to give Willy Gnonto return timeline
Ahead of Leeds United’s clash with Aston Villa, Farke provided a team news update and reiterated that Gnonto is unlikely to be involved.
He said: “Important we don’t put too much weight on Gnonto after injury. Allow him to build confidence on the training pitch.
“I cannot be driven by picking the players who were not involved in a team loss. Careful with him after his injuries.”
It’s been over two months since Gnonto picked up the injury, which was only expected to rule him out for a few weeks.
However, with Farke still being overly cautious about the Italian and his favouritism with Brenden Aaronson, it’s hard to see when Gnonto could actually return, if he does at all.
Saudi Arabia move could be on the cards for Willy Gnonto
MOT Leeds News revealed that Saudi Arabian clubs were preparing offers for Gnonto, who is likely to jump at the chance to receive a significant pay rise.
Al-Ittihad and Neom areof the clubs with long-standing interest in the Italian, and his lack of gametime at Elland Road is only going to invite them to make an offer.
Given the fact that Farke has very rarely utilised Gnonto from the start this season, he may be Leeds’ sacrifice in January to raise funds to improve the squad.
A new striker is likely on the agenda, as the 49ers look to repair the damage they caused in the summer with the lack of attacking arrivals.
