Wilfried Gnonto to pack bags at Leeds United as £25m transfer talks emerge
Leeds United could soon wave goodbye to Wilfried Gnonto.
Gnonto has been linked with a Leeds exit in recent weeks but has been unable to find a route out of Elland Road.
The Italian has been utilised sparingly in LS11, but did start as Leeds secured a 3-1 win away to Derby County in the FA Cup third round.
His lack of minutes won’t come as a surprise to many, with Gnonto’s performances at Leeds raising concerns this campaign.
That looks destined to prompt fresh talks over a new transfer, which could spell bad news for Gnonto in the final days of the winter window.

Gnonto and Ao Tanaka could soon leave Leeds, with frustration growing over their limited minutes in Yorkshire.
The Japan international has been linked away in recent weeks, but it looks unlikely to leave, while things could be different for the Italian winger.
The forward will attract interest from across Europe, especially if the Whites are to open the door to his exit before the winter window ends.
Leeds could give the green light to a departure before the 2 February transfer deadline after opening talks over a deal for Jaidon Anthony.
SportsBoom reported on Friday that preliminary conversations are underway to understand the Claret’s financial demands, which are said to be around £25million.
For Daniel Farke and Co. to spend that sort of money on a new winger, it would likely spell bad news for Gnonto and his time in LS11.
Anthony would kickstart domino effect at Leeds
Anthony previously spent time at Elland Road on a loan move from Bournemouth and didn’t rip up any trees.
Things have changed since he departed LS11, with his spell at Burnley showcasing the sort of talent he showed in flashes with the Whites.
He picked up 15 goal involvements in the Championship last campaign and has followed that up with seven so far this campaign, including one against Manchester United at Turf Moor.
That sort of form has clearly piqued Farke’s interest, who seems interested in bringing the winger back to Yorkshire this summer.
If that deal happens, it will likely spark an exit for Gnonto as well as a number of deals in and around Burnley in the final days of the window.
It will be interesting to see what happens, but it could prove to be a bold move for Leeds in their mission to avoid relegation.
