Wilfried Gnonto in 10/10 masterclass – Leeds United player ratings v Swansea City

Leeds United continued their superb run of form under Daniel Farke as they eased past Swansea City 4-0 on Tuesday (13 February).

Crysencio Summerville opened the scoring in South Wales after just eight minutes, quickly followed by Joel Piroe against his former club.

Wilfried Gnonto then piled on the misery for the hosts, with the Italian attacker netting a brace either side of half-time to delight Whites manager Farke on the sidelines.

Here, MOT Leeds News rates the Whites players out of 10 for their performances in the Championship victory away from home.

Illan Meslier – 7

Perhaps unsurprisingly, it was a relatively quiet evening for the Leeds goalkeeper, with Swansea struggling to have a real impact in the final third.

Archie Gray – 8

Given Swansea’s fragility at the back and lack of firepower going forward, Gray was allowed to push up the pitch often, and he didn’t disappoint as he registered a superb assist for Gnonto’s first goal.

Joe Rodon – 7

Rodon was calm and composed in central defence as he dealt with any trouble that went his way, helping the Whites to another important clean sheet.

Ethan Ampadu – 7

Like his centre-back partner, it wasn’t such a busy night for Ampadu, but he did still need to stay focused to see out the clean sheet, which he did in a professional display.

Junior Firpo – 7

Firpo perhaps didn’t get as forward as much as he would have liked against the Swans, but he definitely played a key role in keeping the home attackers out.

Ilia Gruev – 7

Gruev continued his promising Elland Road career with another accomplished display, with the midfielder helping to get the goalscoring underway with a clever assist for Summerville’s strike.

Glen Kamara – 7

The Finland international helped out his defenders and attackers in a top display in South Wales, with Kamara keeping things ticking over in midfield.

Crysencio Summerville – 9

Summerville bagged his 16th goal of the season in all competitions early on against the Swans as he continued to impress under Farke.

Georginio Rutter – 8

Rutter was as busy as ever from the very first whistle, with his energy and quick feet playing a key role in Summerville’s opener.

Wilfried Gnonto – 10 (Man of the Match)

Was also lively from the very start, with his pace proving far too much for the Swansea defence, with Gnonto assisting Piroe’s goal with an expert through ball before finding the back of the net himself, not once but twice. It was undoubtedly one of his best displays in a Leeds shirt, with the winger now a key player for Farke.

Leeds United
Wilfried Gnonto managed 12 goals and assists combined last season, all-but one of which came from January onwards

Joel Piroe – 7

Only named in the starting XI right before kick-off due to an injury to Patrick Bamford, Piroe took full advantage as he netted the second goal of the game after just 10 minutes.
