Why Noah Okafor can save Leeds from Premier League relegation amid PSR battle
Daniel Farke faces the toughest challenge of his career to keep Leeds in the Premier League.
Leeds are now said to be under PSR restrictions, which state that the club cannot spend more than they generate through player sales in January.
The news comes as a huge blow, as Farke already had concerns over Leeds’ spending, despite Marathe and Co. splashing out over £100million.
Leeds have had worse starts in the Premier League, as the club sits in 13th place heading into the international break.
Despite the financial worries, Noah Okafor has been a good signing for Leeds and has given fans reasons to keep the faith this season.

Leeds may forget PSR issues if Noah Okafor keeps performing for Daniel Farke
The first away win of the season came when Leeds beat Wolves 3-1 away from home, as Okafor starred with a brilliant performance.
He has since carried his good form into Leeds’ games against both Bournemouth and Tottenham, scoring against the latter.
Despite the performances, Farke has demanded more from Okafor, presumably because he knows how crucial the Swiss International can be for Leeds.
Okafor is by far and away Leeds’ best dribbler, as the stats prove.
He is averaging a dribble-success rate of 44 per cent per 90 minutes, which is slightly better than Jayden Bogle’s 43 per cent.
Player | Successful dribbles per 90 |
Noah Okafor | 2.2 (44%) |
Jayden Bogle | 0.9 (43%) |
Gabriel Gudmundsson | 0.9 (38) |
Despite no assists yet, it won’t be long before he turns provider if he keeps these impressive stats up, as he is showing like the main reason Leeds might just stay up.

The PSR issues aren’t going to go away overnight for Leeds, but it’s one area of the pitch that they won’t have to worry about come January, should Okafor keep improving.
Okafor is living up to his price tag for Leeds
Okafor was seen as Leeds’ marquee summer signing, which meant that lots of pressure were to be placed on the young man’s shoulders.
- Okafor joined Leeds from AC Milan
- The deal was worth up to £18m
- Okafor has featured in the World Cup for Switzerland
Not only can Okafor score goals, but he can also create chances through his dribbling ability, and with time, he will make stronger connections with teammates on the pitch.
Farke will be delighted with his side’s new gem, and will be sure to squeeze every last inch of quality out of Oakfor’s boots in Leeds’ bid for Premier League survival.
