Wayne Rooney ‘could talk about Leeds United again’ very soon with new job on cards

Wayne Rooney could be talking about Leeds United again very soon if everything goes according to plan for him.

The England legend’s stint as Plymouth Argyle manager was short-lived as he was relieved of his duties in December after 25 games in charge

However, it might only be a matter of time before we see Rooney talking about Leeds among other things as he is in talks over a new job, and it’s not in management.

Wayne Rooney could talk about Leeds United on BBC MOTD

In a surprising turn of events, Rooney could move away from coaching for the time being as he is in talks over joining the BBC Match of the Day, according to The Sun.

The newspaper reported via their website on 18 January that the former Derby County boss is eyeing a “lucrative” deal to join the celebrated show after Gary Lineker’s exit at the end of the season.

If all goes to plan, Rooney could join new hosts Gabby Logan, Mark Chapman and Kelly Cates and could pocket as much as £200,000 in a year based on how many appearances he makes.

Nevertheless, the news will be exciting for Leeds United fans as the Whites could be in the Premier League by the time Rooney joins BBC MOTD.

That means supporters could watch the 39-year-old talk about the West Yorkshire outfit’s performances in the top flight as often as every week.

The prospect of a former rival manager having to talk about Leeds United, that too in the Premier League, is certainly enticing.

It would be a surprise to see him get a good managerial job, having struggled to achieve success at any of the four clubs he has taken charge of so far.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites are aware that this striker could leave his club before the transfer deadline on 3 February.
