View: Manchester City injury update a major boost for Leeds United

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City injury update is brilliant news for Leeds United and the fans will be filled with hope ahead of Saturday’s clash.

Jesse Marsch’s side welcomes the English Champions to Elland Road for a crunch Premier League clash as his side looks to put as much distance between them and the relegation zone.

The Whites currently sit rather disappointingly in 16th place in the league, boasting a five-point gap on Everton in 18th.

Not only will they benefit from City’s Champions League excursions against Real Madrid in the week but injuries to key defensive duo Kyle Walker and John Stones will give Leeds a major boost.

Guardiola said as per Leeds Live: “I don’t know right now. I’m not worried at all, he’s [Walker] injured unfortunately for all of us and him especially. I must focus on the rest of the players.”

He added regarding Stones: “For tomorrow he’s out and we’ll see for Wednesday.”

Perfect game needed.

Leeds will have to put in a perfect performance against Manchester City on Saturday [April 30] if they are going to get anything from the game.

The Sky Blues are relentlessly going head to head with Liverpool for the title and simply don’t look like dropping points anytime soon but the injuries to Walker and Stones could prove vital.

They have been in brilliant form at the back for City in recent weeks and even with their robust squad depth – it will be a big blow for them to moss the clash.

Marsch has experienced playing against this Manchester City side once already in recent times in the Champions League so the American will know exactly what it is like to go up against them.

If he gets his tactics spot on and the players all play to the best of their ability, a massive upset is on the cards which would be season-defining in almost guaranteeing the Whites’ Premier League survival.
