Leeds United winning Chukwuemeka race would be huge coup for Victor Orta
Leeds United have reportedly joined the race for Aston Villa teenage wonderkid Carney Chukwuemeka and he’d be a huge coup for the Elland Road club
Chukwuemeka has been the subject of transfer interest from a host of clubs in the Premier League and abroad after rejecting a new contract at Villa Park.
The Mail on Sunday reported on 17 July (page 142) that the midfielder is on Leeds’ radar while Fabrizio Romano reported on 16 July that Villa are now ready to sell the £20million-rated sensation.

Romano added that Barcelona are currently winning the race for the England youth international with other “elite clubs” across Europe also keen on a deal.
Can Leeds win the Chukwuemeka race?
If Leeds were able to win the race for Chukwuemeka it would be a massive coup for the club, with some huge teams in the running for the youngster’s signature.
The likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City, Newcastle and Barcelona have all been reported to be interested in the midfielder.

Leeds of course do not have the European football or finances that the other suitors can offer, and normally battle nearer the bottom half of the table compared to the other clubs.
However, if Victor Orta and Jesse Marsch are able to convince Chukwuemeka to join them, it would be a huge deal for the club.
One of the Premier League’s hottest young prospects, choosing Leeds United over some of the league’s big hitters, would be a surprising move but one of the biggest deals the club could do in this window.
In other Leeds news, the club have been linked with Sekou Mara.
