View: Leeds United take a big gamble with Jesse Marsch
Jesse Marsch has agreed to become the new Leeds United manager following the departure of Marcelo Bielsa, according to talkSPORT.
The Whites are taking a big risk on the largely inexperienced coach with just a few years of managerial experience in Europe with his last job as RB Leipzig manager cut short barely five months into his contract.
With that being said, he has a very strong portfolio managing in America throughout his career as well as a couple of Austrian league titles during his time with RB Salzburg.

However, that is a sizeable difference to managing in the Premier League, especially when considering Leeds’ current position.
There has been a lot of doubt circulating from Whites fans surrounding the American coach and reports in Germany after he left Leipzig will have them fearing the worst.
Journalist Christian Kynast claimed that the American coach expressed doubts directly to the club that he was the right man for the job/
In December, he wrote: “For a long time, Marsch had stopped being convinced by himself.
“Exactly twice in the Autumn, he conveyed doubts to the bosses as to whether he was the right man. How is he supposed to convince a team?”

Gamble
If he hasn’t got the belief in himself, how is he going to restore the belief in a Leeds team that desperately needs it?
The club needs somebody who is going to come in and make an instant impact on these players and with Marsch supposedly lacking confidence in himself that will be very hard to do.
The one thing about Bielsa is that he always backed himself. It was his best and maybe his worst quality as ultimately his unwillingness to change from his favoured style of football – not helped by injuries – got the Argentine sacked.
The Whites will look back on the decision to sack Bielsa as a key moment in their history. He was the man to get them back to the Premier League after a long 16 year wait but they didn’t back him to keep them there.
His tactics were giving the team no hopes of winning and recent thrashings highlight just how badly a change was needed but finding a manager who can do the same as Bielsa will be very, very hard.
In other Leeds United news, Stephen Warnock has hailed ‘tenacious’ Whites ace Adam Forshaw.
