Troy Parrott breaks silence on future after Leeds United transfer developments
AZ Alkmaar striker Troy Parrott has been linked with a return to the Premier League at Leeds United.
The 24-year-old has developed into a reliable goalscorer since moving to the Netherlands, and it isn’t surprising to see the Whites keeping an eye on him.
Parrott was of definite interest at Elland Road ahead of the winter transfer window, but a deal didn’t end up materialising.

In the current campaign, the Irishman has made 18 league appearances for the Dutch club, scoring 12 goals and providing two assists.
Speaking to The Independent about his future on 16 February, Parrott said, “It’s a hard question. I haven’t thought about it. I feel where I’m at right now, I’m in a very, very good position, playing with a smile on my face. So whatever happens is going to happen. I’m just focused on the now, to be honest.”
In the World Cup qualifiers in November 2025, the striker kept his country’s hopes alive with a brace against Portugal and a hat-trick against Hungary.
Heimir Hallgrimsson’s team have an opportunity to book their place in the summer’s tournament, with a semi-final play-off tie against Czechia in March.

Leeds could sign Parrott in the summer to increase their depth up front and give support to Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see the Suriname international seek a move away from Elland Road at the end of the season, and the West Yorkshire outfit will likely need a replacement in that case.
