Three players Leeds could look to sell to balance the books in January after PSR update
Leeds United are going to have to be smart in the January transfer window, with PSR already mentioned as a possible issue.
Daniel Farke and Leeds now face a major challenge with PSR in January, as Paraag Marathe has now learned he cannot spend any more money than what he brings in from sales.
Leeds spent over £100million in the summer, as marquee signing Noah Okafor has impressed fans, and Anton Stach has also been a shrewd acquisition.
However, Farke’s side still clearly lacks depth and quality in certain areas, and after the latest news, he may be forced to lose some big names.

MOT Leeds News has picked out three players who may be sacrificed, if needed.
Wilfried Gnonto
When Wilfried Gnonto burst onto the scene after signing from FC Zurich in the 2022-23 season, he was quickly linked with a move away from Elland Road after impressive performances.
The forward can play across the front line and offers explosive pace, directness, and creativity.
Games | Goals |
123 | 23 |
Gnonto has been criticised in the past, and since his breakout season, he has been fairly inconsistent across two seasons in the Championship.
At 21 years old, Gnonto still clearly has bags of potential and is certainly one of Leeds’ most valuable assets.
Gnonto has only started three times in the Premier League this season, and would possibly be the most sensible player to sell for Leeds to raise funds, and more importantly, profit.

Illan Meslier
French goalkeeper Illan Meslier joined Leeds during the 2019-20 season and was an instant fan favourite at Elland Road.
Since his first season at the Elland Road club, Meslier’s performances have slowly declined, and now it looks like he has no place in Farke’s plans.
First-choice goalkeeper Lucas Perri has been sidelined with injury, as Karl Darlow has stepped up to take the number one spot for the time being.
Meslier has been sitting on the bench in the past four league games as his Leeds career looks all but done.

January would be the ideal time for Leeds to sell him, as they need to hope that someone takes a chance on the once-promising Frenchman.
Jack Harrison
Jack Harrison lost love from the Leeds supporters when he didn’t want to drop down and help them get back to the Premier League.
While Leeds were battling in the Championship for two years, Harrison spent two seasons on loan at Everton and has made a shocking comeback to Farke’s squad this season.
- Jack Harrison was once a useful Premier League player for Leeds
- He got 16 goal contributions in the 2020-21 Premier League season
- Harrison only netted five times in 73 appearances for Everton
Harrison has looked to win Leeds fans over since coming back, but yet to start in the Premier League for Farke, he could be one of the names out the door in January.
The Englishman has Premier League experience and could provide a cash injection for Leeds, which could go towards someone with a little more quality, as Harrison also sits on high wages at the club.
