Stars align for Leeds United to sign £10m Liverpool ace Nat Phillips, Daniel Farke likes him
Leeds United are in desperate need of reinforcements all over the pitch, but central defence is an area that must be a priority for the new manager in the Elland Road dugout.
The West Yorkshire outfit conceded a league-high of 78 goals last season, as per the official Premier League website.
They had their struggles elsewhere, but this poor defensive record was one of the main reasons that Leeds dropped out of the division on the last day of the season.

Given the slight drop in standard, the Whites shouldn’t find it quite as hard to keep clean sheets in the upcoming Championship campaign, but they definitely still need to strengthen at the back after last season’s shambolic displays.
And one player that they are currently targeting is Liverpool ace Nat Phillips, who they want to sign for £10million this summer, according to The Athletic (27 June).
He is a player that is well-liked by potential new Whites boss Daniel Farke, who Leeds are “expected to finalise” as their manager, as per the Daily Mail (28 June).

Phillips has proven time and again that he is more than capable of mixing it with the big boys, with the centre-back definitely very unlucky to continue cutting a lonely figure at Anfield.
The 26-year-old boasts superb experience from his time at the Reds, which includes playing in the Premier League and Champions League, and involves learning from one of the best defenders in the world in Virgil van Dijk.
His Championship exploits should also be highlighted, with the Reds ace helping Bournemouth get back to the Premier League during his loan spell with the Cherries last season.

Leeds could do so much worse than bringing Phillips to Elland Road, where the player would become a key member of the starting XI in their push for immediate promotion back to the top flight.
He could also do a lot worse than Leeds, with the player at an important stage of his career where he needs to be playing regularly in order to truly fulfil his potential.
