Sam Greenwood must be offered new and improved Leeds United deal
With their Premier League status all but guaranteed for next season, Leeds United need to start looking to the future and some big decisions have to be made.
Transfers both in and out will make the majority of the headlines and be the main agenda of plenty of in-house meetings over the summer but the Whites cannot afford to neglect those already at the club.
One player, in particular, will enter the final year of his contract at Elland Road next season [Transfer Markt] and with his rise to the first team, Leeds needs to keep him around the side.

That man is, of course, Sam Greenwood who came on to change the game against Watford last weekend and can do so much more often under Jesse Marsch.
The 20-year-old’s high-energy pressing and selfless forward play is akin to that of Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino and works exceptionally well in a system that involves intense work rate across the pitch.
In his three Premier League appearances, Greenwood has managed to bag two assists for the Whites despite not finding the net himself so far.
He’s been far more prolific for the Under-23s with eight goals and five assists in the league this season to go with a singular goal in the Papa John’s Trophy too.

But with just over 12 months left on his current deal, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see some clubs begin to circle for the Sunderland-born striker with a potentially cut-price deal in the offing.
Leeds have to cut that avenue off as soon as possible and sit the 20year-old down for negotiations to ensure that he puts pen to paper on a new deal at Thorp Arch rather than explore his options.
If he isn’t tied down to a new deal, then he will only come back to haunt Leeds United for whoever he plays for next.
