Predicted Leeds United XI v Liverpool

Leeds United could be set to make a number of changes for the visit of Liverpool this weekend after a major development over Raphinha.

The 24-year-old is set to miss the Elland Road clash on Sunday after FIFA enforced a five-day ban on his selection upon the wishes of the Brazil Football Federation after the Whites blocked his international call-up this month.

However, opportunity knocks for new signing Dan James who could replace Raphinha on the wing, while there could be more changes from the side that drew with Burnley on August 29.

Leeds United

Illan Meslier looks certain to keep his place in goal while Diego Llorente and Luke Ayling should form half of a four-man defence.

Robin Koch missed the Turf Moor visit with a groin injury but could return alongside Llorente, while Junior Firpo should be back after his positive COVID test last month.

That means Pascal Struijk and Liam Cooper missing out in central defence.

The same can be said of Mateusz Klich who should slot alongside Stuart Dallas and Kalvin Phillips in midfield, with Rodrigo dropped.

Leeds United

Jack Harrison will keep his place on the left wing but Raphinha’s absence will necessitate a change there, with James set for his debut from the off.

Patrick Bamford will lead the line for Leeds against Jurgen Klopp’s side after making his international debut for England last week.

That would mean four changes for the Whites from last month’s draw with Burnley.

Here’s how we expect Leeds to line up v Liverpool.
