How Leeds United’s transfer plans are being scuppered by Patrick Bamford

Patrick Bamford may be having an unwanted effect on Leeds United’s transfer business this summer.

Leeds will mark their return to the Premier League with a clash against Everton in less than two weeks, and as of yet they will not have a new striker to lead the line.

That is despite the fact that it was highlighted as one of two main priorities this summer, with the arrival of Lucas Perri addressing the other.

Several strikers have been linked, including Fulham’s Rodrigo Muniz, but the lack of progress made on the targets could be down to Bamford.

The lack of interest in Bamford is a concern

Bamford has already been informed that he will have no part to play in the Premier League, with an exit from Leeds the desired next step.

It was previously claimed that he would need to be moved on if Leeds are to splash out on the signing of a new striker, but the lack of noise since will be a worry.

As of yet, very few, if any, clubs at all have shown even the slightest bit of interest in taking the forward off the Whites’ books, leaving them to deal with his wages.

Mateo Joseph’s exit could also play a factor, showcasing the need for Leeds to find an exit for the pair as soon as possible.

Leeds cannot start season without a new striker

Goals win games, and wins keep you up in the Premier League. Cliche, but true.

Right now, Leeds do not have anyone that you would hedge bet on to score the goals that will be required in the top flight, despite an impressive pre-season from Joel Piroe.

This concern needs to be addressed before the weekend, and Daniel Farke will be well aware of the importance of the next few days could hold ahead of the season.
