Patrick Bamford ‘at last chance saloon’ ahead of Leeds encounter with Stoke

Patrick Bamford has had a troubled season with Leeds United this time out, and he may have three games left to save his Elland Road career.

Leeds United are on the verge of promotion back to the Premier League, though Bamford will do well to take any plaudits for his contribution throughout the season.

The 31-year-old has played just 14 games this campaign, failing to make a start and playing just 191 minutes of football in that time period.

However, with his fitness nearing maximum capacity, he may be in line for a chance to save his career and aid his side in their bid to seal promotion.

Daniel Farke must start Bamford v Stoke

One debate that has lived on throughout the course of the season has been over the striker situation, with Joel Piroe coming in for a lot of criticism despite his own contributions.

Bamford made his return to the Leeds squad at the start of April and has since featured in cameos and largely had a positive influence when he has been on the pitch.

Bamford will be hoping to put this season behind him at Leeds United.

With that in mind, Daniel Farke needs to give the Englishman a chance to prove himself ahead of the final few games of the season and make a definitive decision on where his future stands.

Bamford is still under contract at the end of the current campaign, and Leeds are believed to have already set their sights on his exit in the summer, but that may change if he can impress between now and the end of the campaign.

Leeds may be 24 hours away from promotion

If Leeds can seal three points against Stoke, and if Burnley avoid defeat against Sheffield United, promotion will be officialy confirmed.

At this stage, it would take somewhat of a disaster for the Whites to miss out on promotion, given they have a five-point advantage heading into the final three games.
