Paraag Marathe’s genius strikes again as Leeds United’s final Premier League position is predicted

Leeds United picked up another point on Sunday as they moved further away from the relegation zone.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin saved a point for Leeds as his equaliser ensured the Peacocks drew 1-1 against Brentford.

A result was needed after Nottingham Forest pulled clear of the drop zone after their 3-0 victory over Tottenham, which no doubt increased the pressure on Daniel Farke.

However, the German was once again able to pull off a great result, as the Peacocks edge ever closer to safety.

Paraag Marthe deserves credit for sticking by Daniel Farke

After the 3-2 defeat to Manchester City, calls for Farke to be sacked by Leeds were loud.

The manager seemed incapable of getting a result, with the Peacocks stuck in the relegation zone.

However, Paraag Marathe decided to stick by his manager, which has no doubt paid off.

Now, according to Opta on 14 December, Leeds are now predicted to survive, with the current bottom three all set to go down.

Leeds had been favourites to join Burnley and Wolves in the relegation zone for weeks, but now West Ham have taken their place.

Therefore, Marathe deserves a lot of credit for sticking with the manager when plenty of others would have pulled the trigger.

This now appears to be a genius move by the chairman, with Leeds now on track to survive.

Leeds end miserable run in London with Brentford draw

Before the Brentford tie, Leeds had been on a terrible run when facing London sides away in the Premier League.

According to BBC Sport on 14 December, the Peacocks had lost their last nine in the capital in the top-flight.

This run stretched back to May 2022, when Leeds famously beat Brentford to stay in the Premier League.

Now, the Bees have helped put an end to this awful streak as Farke looks to continue the Peacocks’ unbeaten run.
