Paraag Marathe strikes Leeds United masterstroke for summer transfer window as news emerges

Paraag Marathe may have pulled off a masterstroke by agreeing a Leeds United sponsorship deal with Red Bull ahead of the summer transfer window.

After losing to Southampton in the Play-Off final (26 May) it looked like a long summer of frustration was ahead for the Whites.

The news that Daniel Farke would lose up to £100m worth of talent [The Daily Mail] from his squad as he looked to achieve promotion at the second time of asking.

Amidst all the bad news some good has now come to light after a report from Last Word On Sports (30 May) has suggested new sponsorship is coming.

This deal could prove to be the difference between a poor and a positive transfer window as Leeds eyes a return to the Premier League again.

Although they aren’t well loved by most football fans across Austria and Germany for their alterations to clubs with Leipzig and Salzburg.

With that being said the work they have done to improve those teams and make them some of the best in their countries can’t be put down.

The Austrian outfit have dominated the league for years, winning 11 of the last 14 Bundesliga titles which is an unbelievable record.

Although Leeds United aren’t going to become RB Leeds this summer, the investment from the global brand is going to be very useful.

The Whites needed some financial aid after losing in the Play-Offs. Being condemned to the Championship once again could prove to be hugely damaging.

Although some key stars may still leave for personal or financial reasons this summer, this sponsorship could improve the chance of replacing those losses.

Signing a record deal for a sponsorship in the EFL is great work by Marathe in a summer which had looked like it was going to be all doom and gloom.

Red Bull x Leeds United could prove to be a great partnership for the transfer window and also the future of the club.
