Paraag Marathe is letting Daniel Farke down after latest Leeds developments in January
Paraag Marathe may have found it difficult to plan for the January transfer window.
Marathe could have sacked Daniel Farke at the start of December after Leeds went on a four-game losing streak and were among the favourites to be relegated.
However, a seven-match unbeaten run has left the Whites eight points adrift of safety after 21 games played in the Premier League.
Farke has overseen a remarkable change in fortunes, and he has proven that he has the tactical acumen to successfully manage in the top tier of English football.
Now that it looks like Farke will stay in charge for the foreseeable future, 49ers Enterprises should back him with quality reinforcements in the coming weeks, although not one player has walked through the door in January.

Leeds still have several positions to address in the transfer market
Leeds managed to welcome 10 new arrivals to Elland Road this summer, although they have failed to add to their ranks in January so far.
Fulham star Harry Wilson looked set to join Leeds in the summer, although the move fell through on deadline day.
It shows that Marathe has failed to address the need for a creative player that can play both centrally and out wide, and links with attacking players remain few and far between.
| Player | Signed from |
| Jaka Bijol | Udinese |
| Lukas Nmecha | Wolfsburg (free transfer) |
| Noah Okafor | AC MIlan |
| Anton Stach | TSG Hoffenheim |
| Gabriel Gudmundsson | Lille |
| James Justin | Leicester |
| Sean Longstaff | Newcastle |
| Dominic Calvert-Lewin | Everton (free transfer) |
| Lucas Perri | Lyon |
| Sebastiaan Bornauw | Wolfsburg |
As for the other end of the pitch, Leeds are in pole position to sign Union Berlin centre-back Danilho Doekhi.
He has spent the last four seasons with Union Berlin in the Bundesliga, helping them qualify for the Champions League with a fourth-placed finish in the 2022-23 campaign.
However, with his contract expiring in the summer, Leeds may not aim to sign him now, even though they clearly need a centre-back.

Marathe has shown no signs of ruthlessness in the transfer window, and Farke must be bitterly disappointed that he hasn’t got anyone new to work with.

Paraag Marathe has overseen Leeds’ Premier League return poorly
If you look across the Premier League, every team is now spending millions of pounds in the off-season to bolster their squad.
In the summer transfer window, Leeds spent the sixth-lowest spend of any Premier League team, with only £98million being spent.
The January window is completely different, with teams around Europe reluctant to let go of their prized stars, and therefore driving a hard bargain.
However, Leeds and Man United are the only teams not to sanction a single sale or buy a single player since the window opened on 1 January.
Marathe definitely needs to change his approach; otherwise, the supporters will turn their frustrations towards him.
