MOT View: Simon Jordan discusses ‘best-case scenario’, Leeds will surely disagree

Simon Jordan has claimed that the best-case scenario is that English football is voided, something Leeds United will surely disagree with.

The former Crystal Palace owner claimed that it is inevitable that a player may become infected with the Coronavirus which could lead to a corporate disaster.

The EFL and Premier League have already confirmed that training is set to be restarted in the coming weeks with the season potentially being concluded behind-closed-doors starting in June.

Jordan claimed that idea is treading on thin ice and that we are approaching a time where the season could be declared null and void.

“The best-case scenario is that we’re fortunate enough to get football this season, but I think the realistic scenario is we start 20/21,” he said on talkSPORT.

“I think we are in real jeopardy. I think we’re in a situation, as I said a moment ago, that the best-case scenario in my mind is that we lose this season.

“Leeds aren’t promoted.”

With more than 80% of the season completed, it would make no sense whatsoever for the entire campaign to be null and voided.

It would start a real argument and even legal action, with a Dutch manager even telling the Whites to visit the European courts if they lose the chance of promotion to the Premier League.

According to prediction expert Nate Silver, Leeds stand a 98% chance of promotion should the season return and that is as close as you could nearly get without actually crossing the line so that can’t be overlooked [FiveThirtyEight].
