MOT View: Leeds set for disappointment as reported target to be given second chance

Given the weight of pressure on the shoulders of Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford, it will have been a relief when Jean-Kevin Augustin arrived.

Andrea Radrizzani and Victor Orta may not be stopping there though, with Haberturk reporting that the Whites are interested in Galatasaray striker Mbaye Diagne.

It is suggested that Leeds are planning to add another forward should they earn promotion, and Diagne falling out of favour in Turkey made him a candidate.

All the signs looked good, that is until recently when the tables well and truly turned at the Champions League club.

Hurriyet have reported that Fatih Terim is set to give the Senegalese forward another chance to impress.

The Turkish outlet has reported that Diagne is set to rejoin Galatasaray’s training camp in the summer in preparation for the new season.

Bamford and Augustin could be set to fire Leeds to the Premier League in the next nine Championship games, then there could be a new arrival in the final third in the summer.

Diagne made six appearances on loan at Club Brugge before the break and managed to score four goals – proving he can be prolific in front of goal.

Bielsa favours Bamford leading the line, and he has repaid him in recent fixtures – especially against Huddersfield where he scored and tormented our Yorkshire rivals for the entire game.

Should Augustin turn his move into a permanent one in the summer, missing out on Diagne certainly wouldn’t be the worst.
